Maintaining resin-bound and paved surfaces
Seasonal maintenance that protects joints, drainage and finishes without promising a permanent surface.
This is general information, not a survey, design, legal or Building Control decision. The correct scope and standard depend on the property, work, date and regulatory route.
Sweep leaves and soil away from drainage channels and surface joints, remove weeds before roots enlarge gaps, and deal with oil or organic staining using the installed system's cleaning advice. Do not assume pressure washing, salt, sealers or chemical cleaners are safe for every resin, block, natural stone or jointing product.
Resin-bound surfaces need their designed falls and open drainage paths kept clear; ponding, loose aggregate, cracking or edge failure should be investigated rather than covered with a new coat. Block paving may need re-sanding only after cleaning and drying, using a jointing product compatible with the installation.
Record movement, settlement and damaged edges early. Repairs may remain visible because aggregate, colour, weathering and batches change; a small trial area is preferable to an untested whole-surface treatment.
